Ofcom CTO Mansoor Hanif (pictured) has replaced Sir Mike Rake (who is retiring) as Patron of The Institute of Telecommunications Professionals (ITP).
Hanif's previous roles include senior positions at BT, Orange, EE and Vodafone and he is an advisory board member for UK5G.
He said: “The focus is on taking the ITP's work forward and collaborating with regulators, government associations and other leading bodies on a wide variety of projects that are important to the future of the industry.”
ITP CEO Crissi Williams added: "Our vision includes supporting the industry to bridge the current UK skills gap and we welcome his input and expertise with our own apprenticeship scheme and initiatives.”
