Gamma summer fun nets £8000 for charity

Two summer events hosted by Gamma have raise more than £8,000 for charities Action Through Enterprise and SpecialEffect.

After the success of its first ever Charity Football Championship in 2017, Gamma once again hosted the event at Shoreditch Powerleague. Fourteen teams battled it out for victory on one of the hottest days of the year and it was Welcomm who kept their cool to win the championship (pictured showing off the trophies). Runners up were STL.

Beforehand, forty-five cyclists took part in Gamma’s 5th annual charity cycle in Hungerford.

Due to the success of previous years, Gamma continued with a road and a mountain bike course, a popular format as it provides much more variety for participants. There were four tracks in total, two routes for the road cyclists (38 and 61 miles) and two routes for the mountain bikers (24 and 30 miles). All groups had to tackle an ascent of at least 2000ft.

Andy Smethurst, Head of Channel – Unified Communication at Gamma said: “It was fantastic to see so many partners attend our cycling event for the 5th year running. Everybody had a lot of fun putting their bodies through the mill on some challenging road climbs and mountain bike courses, with some good cheer back at Hungerford Rugby club, tales of punctures, falls, and a few sore muscles all over a beer and delicious BBQ. A big thank you to the Xtreme Energy team for putting on the event, and the Hungerford Rugby club for hosting and catering.”

Sam Mason, Sales Director at Welcomm said: “These events are a great opportunity to have a fun day out of the office whilst we catch up with the Gamma team and network with other channel partners. The money raised goes to two very deserving charities and we are happy to be a part of that.”
