North lends IoT expertise to London projects

IoT firm North is providing its smart data expertise to South London Partnerships for two pilot projects designed to transform local communities in Sutton and Kingston.

In Sutton, sensors will be installed around seven parks to review footfall data at key points of interest, including entrance points and access to playgrounds, giving insight into whether the green spaces meet the needs of local people.

In Kingston, sensors will be placed in an old residential building to monitor for activity and make the council aware of people entering the unsafe facility.

Mark Lowe, Business Development Director at North, said: “The pilot projects in South London demonstrate two examples of how smart IoT technology can be used to transform our communities. Used in two different areas for varying purposes, they will both use data to improve the local community.”

North is teaming up with Daizy for software development support.
