Openreach declares new ‘stop-sell’ order on 77 locations

Openreach has outlined 77 exchange locations across the UK where it will stop sales of copper-based phone and broadband services coming into effect from April 2022.

These locations include Ellesmere Port in Cheshire, Hayes in Greater London, Kelso in Scotland, and Coleraine in Northern Ireland, affecting roughly 700,000 premises.

James Lilley, Openreach Director of Managed Customer Migrations, said: “This is a further commitment that we will stop selling copper products in areas where full fibre is going to be widely available.”
