After working together two decades ago at Avaya, Clive Sawkins (left) and Andy Grant (right) have reunited at Digital Barriers with plans to leverage the growing IoT and cellular technology markets.
Sawkins was appointed Chief Operating Officer in January to drive the engineering, operations, and R&D of the business.
He joined from New Era Technology, the company that purchased Pinnaca in December 2020.
He said: “I was attracted by the opportunity to be part of a team with unique IOT and cellular technology.
“Our video compression and transmission technology make live video and analytics applications over cellular an affordable reality in scenarios it would not otherwise be possible.”
Through his remit to strengthen the wider team, he brought in former colleague Andy Grant as SVP of Marketing.
His remit is to increase recognition beyond its current core audiences and create demand in current and future target vertical markets.
He said: “To make this a reality our core audiences, and their trusted channel partners, need to understand the business benefits of our IoT cellular technology solutions. Success will mean growth of the Digital Barriers business.”
The company’s software is widely used in defence and law enforcement, with the company now looking to grow across a range of commercial markets.
