BT registers profit dip but ‘pivots to predictable growth’

BT Group has reported a slight dip in revenue and profit in its full year financial results in line with expectations.

For the full year to March 2021 BT Group’s revenue fell slightly from £22,905m to £21,331m whilst reported profit before tax took a more substantial fall from £2,353m to £1,804m.

Philip Jansen, Chief Executive at BT Group said: “After several years of tough work, and as we look to build back better from the pandemic, we are now pivoting to consistent and predictable growth.”

Alongside the accounts, BT also reported plans to increase its fibre rollout by five million premises. The new target will be 25 million premises reached by December 2026, supporting an additional 7,000 jobs.
