Spitfire calls for urgent home worker connectivity upgrade

Spitfire Network Services Sales Director Dominic Norton has called on SMEs to allay the risk of potential reputational damage and staff productivity shortfalls by urgently addressing the poor quality of broadband connectivity used by many home workers.

According to a survey by the company more than a quarter of home working SME employees face regular connectivity issues and just 4% have a dedicated Internet connection for work-related purposes.

The Internet and telecoms provider surveyed over 1,000 UK SMEs and identified an opportunity for partners to provide solutions that could prevent dropouts and lagging for the 57% of employees with more than three devices connected to their home broadband.

"We were unsurprised to discover that more than one in four employees are facing connectivity challenges whilst they work from home," said Norton.

“My message to businesses would be to act now and consider the damage that may be being caused to both productivity and reputation.”
