Intercity closes skills gap with new apprenticeship scheme

A new apprenticeship programme will be introduced by Birmingham-based Intercity Technology to give young people experience in technical and customer-facing roles, while offering opportunities for potential network and security engineers, software testers and project managers.

The apprentices will be based at the Intercity offices in Birmingham, Bolton, Oakham and Elstree.

Successful apprentices will gain a Level 4 qualification upon completion of the 24 month scheme.

Sonia Hall, People Director at Intercity Technology, said: "Businesses, particularly those in the technology sector, have a responsibility to address the skills gap and show talented young people that university isn't the only way into the industry.

"We have no doubt that our programme will set our apprentices up with the skills and experience that they need for a successful career in tech."
