Former Purple channel chief Richard Roberts (pictured) has been drafted in by Mitel as Vice President for UK&I and EMEA Channels.
He brings 20-plus years industry experience to the role and reports to SVP of EMEA Jeremy Butt who was appointed by the Canadian vendor last October, moving from Westcon Group.
Roberts joins Mitel from Purple where he led the EMEA Sales and Worldwide Channels business. Previous roles include a 14 year stint at Cisco Systems where he held a number of senior positions.
Butt commented: "As customers of all sizes increasingly turn to cloud technologies it's important that we are able to support end users while empowering our channel partners on their transformation journey," said Jeremy, Mitel SVP of EMEA.
"Richard's dual role will enable him to drive forward our expanded UK and Ireland business, while ensuring the EMEA-wide channel strategy is best suited to customers' needs."
