Welsh broadband fund awards £900k to Powys project

A local broadband project in Powys will receive £900k of funding from the Welsh Government’s Local Broadband Fund.

The project will draw from the Government’s £10m pot to bring full fibre to 139 properties across the county alongside 13 hard to reach properties.

Powys County Council’s Leader, Cllr Rosemarie Harris, said: “The funding will make a massive difference to residents in six different communities across our vast rural county.

“We can now prove that while these properties are hard to reach, they are not ‘impossible to reach’ if the right support is available.”
