CityFibre has added five years to its partnership with engineering and project management firm Bechtel which the altnet claims is crucial to its potential participation in the Building Digital UK’s Project Gigabit programme.
Bechtel’s teams have been fully integrated into CityFibre’s organisational structure since September 2020, enabling CityFibre to mobiliseits 25 network construction partners and manage over 60 parallel builds.
The new agreement sees Bechtel lend leadership and construction management expertise to CityFibre’s north and southeast builds and functional support across the rest of the country.
Greg Mesch, CEO at CityFibre said: “Over the last twelve months Bechtel has worked in lockstep with our teams to acceleration our rollout. This pace will only increase as we commence new projects and maximise the productivity of each build.”
