Quickline acquires Boundless Networks

Northleaf-backed Quickline Communications has acquired fellow hybrid network solution provider Boundless Networks to speed up its gigabit-capable rollout plans in northern England.

The specialist provider is on a mission to connect secluded areas of Yorkshire and Lincolnshire and has set the target of providing over 500,000 rural premises with gigabit-capable broadband, expecting to pump £500m into the rollout.

Sean Royce (pictured), Quickline’s CEO, said: “Boundless has been making inroads in delivering lightning-fast broadband to many businesses and homes in less urbanised towns and villages.

“Through this acquisition we can advance the scale of Quickline’s operations and network reach, which will be of benefit to the many communities that have been left to make do with substandard internet services.”

This deal creates a combined group with over 10,000 customers and close to 100 employees. David Hood, Chairman of Boundless, will retain a minority stake and remain on the board.

He added: “By merging our assets, we have considerably strengthened our ability to grow our reach and enhance our services.”
