Reliance on video conferencing set to continue

The surge in home working during the pandemic will present high margin opportunities for resellers for a long time to come based on research commissioned by Konftel.

A survey carried out by Global Workplace Analytics for the conference solutions manufacturer has revealed that around 70% of workers will continue operating from home in some capacity after the Covid-19 crisis ends.

Respondents claimed they had gone from working from home an average of half a day a week to five days and were now reliant on video conferencing.

This reliance is set to continue as GWA respondents predict they will continue to work two days from home post-Covid.

Konftel’s video conferencing sales have now overtaken standalone audio for the first time in the company’s history.

Jeff May, Konftel UK Sales Director, said: “Everyone can relate to the fact that we have changed our way of working – if not forever, then for a very long time to come.

“The hybrid way of working is going to demand much more from the video conferencing technology. It has to be easy to use and something that is not going to tire out the user, no matter how long the meetings last or how many meetings they have in a working day.”
