Voneus bolsters managed services with Lde Smart Alarms buy

Rural broadband provider Voneus has bagged Swindon-based Lde Smart Alarms in a push to beef up its managed services offering.

The deal rescues Lde from administration and expands Voneus's capabilities in delivering enterprise-grade connectivity and managed services across the UK and increases its ability to provide 24/7 support.

Founded in 1988 Lde provides managed services to circa 50 corporate customers, and specialises in managed data networks, CCTV and a range of telephony and mobile services to organisations operating multiple sites, often in remote locations. All of Lde's employees join Voneus.

Graham Wallace, CFO of Voneus, stated: "Lde understands the challenges associated with serving rural locations so we see great synergies between the two companies. By joining forces, we are in a better position to close the digital divide for the UK's rural businesses."

This takeover of Lde, which filed for administration in mid-February 2018, forms part of Voneus' strategy to both expand its superfast broadband network and to offer a wider range of consumer- and business-grade services to communities across the UK.

Voneus secured £5.3m funding in June 2017 and since acquired wireless Internet service providers Cotswold Wireless and SugarNet.
