Union Street Technologies, supplier of billing solutions for communication providers, has announced the introduction of version 1.5 of its aBILLity billing platform. The new version offers aBILLity some significant performance enhancements, said the firm.
aBILLity 1.5 incorporates Union Street's WLR3 Portal Solution, which is designed to integrate fully with the aBILLity billing platform.
Customers only need a license key from Union Street to activate to WLR3 Portal Solution functionality. The seamless integration of the aBILLity billing platform with the WLR3 Portal Solution provides significant business benefits in terms of reduced data entry, faster order processing, extra validation and reduced errors.
The WLR3 module enables CPs to interface with the Openreach Equivalence Management Platform (EMP). With no additional software to purchase, there is no capital outlay, just a monthly service charge.
With the announcement by Openreach of the withdrawal of WLR2 by July 2011, migration to WLR3 for CPs has now become imperative.
aBILLity 1.5 also incorporates new features particularly around bundled usage plans, commission structures and other subtle improvements.
Tony Cook, managing director of Union Street, said: "It is important for us as a service provider that our customers have access to the latest innovations in application design as soon as they become available.
"All the integrated WLR3 functionality is built into aBILLity 1.5 so customers can move easily to WLR3 provisioning with a simple license key release. We anticipate that many of our customers will wish to upgrade, with the withdrawal of WLR2 now definite."
