A team of ladies from Shaftesbury Systems raised over £500 for Cancer Research UK by running at the Race for Life event in Harlow, Essex. All members completed the 5K race in under 45 minutes.
Emma, Ali, Sihem, Melissa, Christine, Denise, Mel and Rashmi, from Shaftesbury Systems based in Potters Bar, joined over three thousand participants at Harlow Park on Sunday the 9th May to take part in Race for Life, Cancer Research UK's largest women-only fundraising event.
Melissa Lloyd, head of Customer Administration, said: "We had a great time! The weather was a bit overcast and it was very cold, but the atmosphere was brilliant and everyone was smiling because they were taking part in such a worth-while event."
Alison Massey who works in First Line Support finished the course around Harlow in 36 minutes and was one of the first across the finish line. She added: "We were racing for our family members, friends and colleagues that have been affected by cancer. It was a great day and I am proud to have been involved."
Over £500 has been raised so far for Cancer Research UK with donations still coming in.
