Paul O'Brien, Director of BT's Service, Security and Operations Lab, has joined the Institute of Telecommunications Professionals (ITP) board of directors.
He brings over 25 years telecoms industry experience in several roles including technology venturing and start-ups, managing large research programmes, leading international collaborative projects and chairing standards committees.
He has co-edited one book, two journals and is published widely. O'Brien is also a long-standing member of the ITP and on The Journal editorial board.
ITP CEO Crissi Williams said: "Paul has a passion for technology research and innovation and is a keen advocate for careers in engineering.
"Not only is he a mentor for the Tamar Engineering Project at Plymouth University, he's also a judge for the annual Tech4Good Awards, making him perfectly placed to help steer one of our long-term goals of bringing fresh talent to our industry."
