NeoWave signs distribution deal with Vidyo

NeoWave has added video conferencing to its portfolio following a distribution agreement with Vidyo.

This is a significant development for NeoWave which predicts a strong growth in video conferencing sales from within the telecoms sector.

Vidyo offers HD multi-point video conferencing for a broad range of endpoints from immersive telepresence and room systems through to desktops and laptops, tablets and smart phones.

Vidyo’s platform is software-based and by using Adaptive Video Layering, is able to optimise the video for each endpoint. It leverages Scalable Video Coding which lowers the incidence of latency so that high quality video is delivered.

“This is an exciting product which is already established in the audio-visual market but has much to offer the telecoms channel,” said Margaret Brewer, General Manager, NeoWave Distribution.

“The quality of video on the Vidyo platform ensures that participants receive the most natural video conferencing experience, but they can do this at a location, or on a device that is most suitable for them. In addition, Vidyo is seamlessly interoperable with the main legacy systems.”

NeoWave will be introducing the Vidyo range to its existing reseller channel and to potential new integrator partners at an event in mid-September at the Williams F1 Conference Centre in Oxfordshire.

Demonstrations of the Vidyo products working in situ will be carried out and the full sales and technical support team will be in attendance. NeoWave will be offering a demo kit incentive to support the launch, and will also be making loan equipment and training available.

Brewer added: “We have appointed Heather Bleasdale as a Vidyo Product Specialist, who brings years of experience to the role, and our technical team have all been trained.”

The channel can expect invitations to get together with NeoWave at Breakfast ‘Meet and Greets’ during the Summer and Autumn and the company will have a presence at the Converged Summit South event in October during which it will be demonstrating the Vidyo solution.

This level of commitment to marketing the Vidyo range supports NeoWave’s conviction that the telecoms channel needs this type of video conferencing solution to meet demands from customers.

“Vidyo will sit very well in the telecoms channel, and the technical expertise of resellers will lend itself well to presenting the solution to customers,” continued Brewer. “Logically, video conferencing should have taken off in the past couple of years, particularly with the problems caused by the ash cloud and the rising cost of air travel but this hasn’t happened.

"We expect that the scalability, flexibility and interoperability of the Vidyo solution will make a huge difference and will finally see video conferencing being adopted on a broad scale in the UK.”
