A new initiative introduced by the Qubic Group aims to break the mould of traditional channel relationships and advance the market for cloud services. Known as the Converged Alliance, the scheme offers resellers a range of business grade hosted services and associated connectivity and aims to see all parties collectively realise shareholder capital through a joint flotation or trade sale.
The Converged Alliance operates as a carrier neutral, vendor independent, wholesale aggregator; and Converged Alliance Partners (as the resellers will be known) will be able to white-label and resell a range of connectivity services from business grade high-speed broadband to enterprise gigabit fibre services along with bolt-on offerings such as QoS and SIP trunks.
Chris Papa, MD, Converged Alliance, said: "We are looking for a different relationship than the traditional wholesaler to reseller arrangement. We are looking to forge a true alliance and aim to create a network of like-minded companies that can collaborate to deliver nationwide services. In the mid-term we will look to release shareholder value through flotation, trade sale or other exit strategy.
"High quality, national service providers of scale typically command strategic valuation multiples significantly in excess of standalone local players. Such companies may not be able to realise shareholder capital on their own through an exit strategy. By coming together as a single entity, we will be able to achieve significantly better returns."
The Converged Alliance delivers hosted services from its UK data centres through co-located or virtualised servers and is a Microsoft Partner. Its resellers can offer hosted versions of all the main Microsoft applications including Office Suite, Exchange, Lync, SharePoint, CRM Dynamics and SQL, on a per user, per month basis. Hosted voice is provided using a combination of SIP trunks, QoS and hosted Mitel voice services which can all be resold.
In addition to the core technologies there are services such as a suite of Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery (BCDR) solutions, self-provisioned VM servers that can be rented on an hourly basis and fully automated NOC management facilities that can all be resold.
Vlasis Theodorou, Sales Director of The Converged Alliance, added: "Traditional resellers are experiencing battle fatigue as they constantly fight on two fronts - ensuring control quality over multiple vendors and maintaining a safe distance from each vendor's direct sales team. This is no way to compete. We provide an end-to-end single source with SLAs. This is radical thinking within the market coming from a wholesale-only cloud enabler."
