Chess Telecom has left two customers in high spirits as London-based Happy Finish won a tropical break for two to the Barbados, while Gray Fabrications returned from Rome, simply by registering for their free tickets in Chess Telecom's Summer Customer Competition.
John Carswell from Gray Fabrication in Fife won a holiday to Rome by taking part in the Chess Customer Competition back in 2008. After getting over the initial suspicion that there might be a catch, he arranged with Chess to take the holiday in June 2009.
"The holiday was absolutely first class," said Carswell. "When we arrived the weather was fantastic and the hotel was an old converted palace, conveniently located near the station, so it was easy to get around. We made sure we crammed as much in as possible, Trevi Fountain, tours of The Coliseum, Palaces, various monuments and The Vatican. The sense of history was just superb. I don't think I would have ever visited Rome with out winning this holiday, but I would definitely go back. I can't thank Chess enough; it was the holiday of a lifetime!"
Happy Finish, which has been Chess customers since October 2005, had nine tickets in the draw, showing that it's not always big players who get lucky considering there were 5000 tickets in total.
In addition to sending customers on holiday, two lucky Chess people also were rewarded for their on-going hard work by winning a holiday. Howard Simpson from the Smartflush department won a family holiday to Disneyland Paris and Joel Mahoney in Sales is going to a European destination of his choice.
Chess Chief Executive David Pollock said: "Our Summer Conference was a fantastic event. It was a chance to celebrate our successes over the last 12 months and focus on our vision for the rest of 2009, looking at what else we can do as a business to exceed customer expectations further.
"We have a number of exciting announcements planned for the future to benefit our customers and support them through the challenging times ahead. It's great that at a time where doom and gloom are dominating the headlines, Chess Telecom is able to offer all customers the chance to win a fantastic holiday on top of unbeatable savings."

'If you are worried about laying off engineers, why not re-deploy them in sales while the installations side picks up? You often find that the best dealers are former engineers who have a broad knowledge of the industry, who customers trust to give them sound advice and a solution that works for them.'
