Chess and ebillz raise 'Movember’ awareness

Chess and sister Billing company ebillz have embraced 'Movember' to help increase awareness of prostate cancer and men's health in general.

To support 'Movember' a dozen strong team have been growing a wide variety of facial hair styles, from goatees to moustaches, and have raised over £900 for the cause.

Anne Binnie, HR Director at Chess, commented "It's part of our culture to create a healthy environment for our people and supporting causes that can evidently save lives is part of that. As part of the Movember campaign we organised for a consultant specialist to come to our head offices to give advice to our people regarding men's health issues. Our 'Movember' participants have worked incredibly hard spreading the message of the importance of awareness of male cancers and have done a great job raising money to help the cause."

Arvind Meghani, Managing Director at ebillz, stated: "Some of our guys are getting a bit of harassment about their facial hair from the ladies in their lives but that's not putting us off what we're doing this for. If our moustaches, goatees & beards help one person to get checked out at the doctors then we've done a good job."

Movember funds raised in the UK are directed to programmes run directly by Movember and their men's health partners, Prostate Cancer UK and the Institute of Cancer Research. They work with these partners to ensure that Movember funds are supporting a broad range of programmes in line with their strategic goals of awareness, education, survivorship and research.
