Azzure IT secures Northern Powerhouse investment

Sheffield software vendor Azzure IT has secured the Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund's biggest ever investment since the fund was launched last February - a £2m cash boost to strengthen its management team, recruit more implementation consultants and expand its sales and marketing operations.

The investment is expected to create circa 12 new jobs this year as Azzure IT ramps up its capabilities to deliver more Microsoft Dynamics solutions to the full spectrum of organisations.

Azzure IT began its commercial life in 2011 and founders Craig and Sharon Such have grown the business to currently employ 57 staff, and have secured listings in the Deloitte Tech Fast500 EMEA over the past three years, while appearing in the Financial Times 1000 list of the fastest growing companies in Europe at 200th place.

Azzure IT was one of the first UK software vendors to achieve the ISO 9001:2015 quality accreditation and is ranked 29th in the Northern Tech 100 league.

Will Clark, Joint Fund Manager of NPIF - Mercia Equity Finance, said: "Founded in the last economic downturn, the company itself used technology to take on emerging market challenges and to thrive and grow. Its goal is to support other growing businesses to achieve digital transformation. The funding will allow the business to scale up to meet growing demand."
