ITP joins forces with IT industry body BCS

BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT and the Institute of Telecommunications Professionals (ITP) have formed a joint membership scheme for IT and telecoms professionals.

The scheme offers professional development opportunities, training, seminars, awards and apprenticeships, and will give members access to benefits from both professional bodies.

Crissi Williams, CEO of the ITP, said: “The lines between telecoms and IT are converging and blurring. Closer collaboration between practitioners in the field is needed to ensure we continue to innovate and realise the potential.

"The joint scheme will open a host of opportunities for IT and telecoms professionals wishing to expand their knowledge and professional development.”

BCS CEO Paul Fletcher added: “BCS shares the same values as the ITP community, so our new partnership is a natural step. Recognition of professionalism is important and this new joint scheme offers a range of opportunities that brings our communities together.”
