Distributor Nimans believes that going Green can help resellers open more doors to new sales opportunities. "It is becoming increasingly clear that green issues are beginning to impact on telecoms sales," commented the company's Sales Director, Phil Adams.
He added that the green agenda has become a valid reason for a reseller to talk to customers and to open more doors for increased revenue streams, such as upgrading equipment and reducing the energy consumption of hardware, to cut clients costs. "Increased opportunities are also generated by technology that supports more flexible working practices, such as mobile solutions and built-in conference bridges, which save businesses travel and time," he said.
"Everyone is becoming more familiar and aware of the need to reduce their carbon footprint and the telecoms arena can play an important part in this evolving situation, as manufacturers place greater emphasis in this area in response to a market-place that is far more aware of environmental issues."
According to Adams, manufacturers are already focusing much more on developing less power-hungry devices. He points to BT, which has developed phones that use 50% less power.
