Commvault in leadership revamp

Nasdaq listed Commvault has pulled in Sanjay Mirchandani (pictured) as President and CEO replacing Bob Hammer who is retiring.

Nick Adamo has been appointed Chairman of the Board, replacing Hammer who remains as Chairman Emeritus.

Al Bunte, who has served alongside Hammer for more than two decades, is stepping down from his role as Chief Operating Officer.

Mirchandani was previously CEO of IT automation company Puppet where he grew the user base of its open source and commercial solutions to more than 40,000, including 75% of the Fortune 100.

His prior experience also includes senior leadership positions at VMware, EMC and Microsoft.

“Sanjay’s accomplishments at Puppet demonstrate a deep understanding of multi-cloud and cloud native applications,” said incoming Chairman Nick Adamo.

“Commvault’s partner-driven approach is closely aligned with my own,” said Mirchandani.

Hammer led the company for more than two decades, growing it to a $3.1bn market cap.
