Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham outlined his vision for the city as a UK digital leader during a customer and partner event staged by InTec Business Solutions based in Altrincham.
Burnham cited the Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund as a key driver for the digital revolution within Greater Manchester and he emphasised the important role of companies such as InTec – which secured a £500k investment from the fund this year – in digitalising the region.
"Digital in all of its guises is an unparalleled strength of Greater Manchester compared to other UK cities outside of London, and there is a growing sense that this is a real centre of excellence when it comes to digital, cyber and tech," stated Burnham.
InTec Chairman Simon Howitt added: "We are building a network of partners who are each connected to a regional technology hub.
"This enables the partners to broaden their offering and become technology solutions providers, not just communications providers."
